Building SRM 5.1 into Existing vSphere 5.1 Environment

As the name suggest, this is my latest assignment.  First I will say the SSO piece seemed cumbersome when I installed v5.1 (without considering SRM as it wasnt a glimmer in my eye yet).

Im simply trying to find a starting point.  I know an additional instance of vCenter is required for SRM, but have found little to no guidance on how to correctly configure that 2nd instance (specifically the SSO part) and what changes I may potentially have to make to the existing SSO instance.  The parts Im struggling with are the SSO instance types.  On the existing SSO instance, when I installed it I am almost certain it is configured as "Create the primary node for a new vCenter Single Sign On installation", "Install basic vCenter Single Sign On".  Knowing this, how should I proceed with installation of the 2nd instance for SRM?

My goal is for this to work in the event the primary site is taken out, so any kind of sharing between the 2 instances of vCenter, SSO, DBs really isnt an option, but from what I have read using either the multisite or HA configurations there is still some reliance from the recovery site to the primary site correct?  How would SRM even work if part of the recovery site is dependant on the primary site, and the primary site goes down?  So, is it possible to have a full functioning vCenter, SSO, INV, Web Client, and VUM both in the primary and recovery site, so if the primary site goes down the recovery site will act just like the primary does?

If I have butchered the interpretation of SRM and how it is used please do tell.  I think me grasping this concept would be much easier if I started from scratch but I do not have that luxury.
