Hi guys.

   This is my configuration:

vSphere 5.1

Primary Site (Production)

Cluster, 7 hosts.

Compellent primary storage (with own enterprise manager compellent).

own vCenter VM

a few replicating vms (with a Domain Name Server).

Secundary Site (Remote)

Cluster, 3 hosts

Compellent secundary storage (with own enterprise manager compellent).

own vCenter VM.

Site recovery manager VM.

No Domain Name Server.

So, when i test the recovery plan, it's works perfectly. Yesterday, i tryed a distaster exercise:

1.- Disconect link between Production Site and Remote Site.

2.- Connect my laptop into Remote Site lan.

3.- Connect vSphere Client into Secundary Site vCenter.

4.- Execute Recovery action for recovery plan.

but fails when try to power virtual machines. Error:

Error: Cannot fetch hosts associated with placeholder VMs. The connection to the remote server is down.

There is something wrong with my configuration, but why? I don't know. I check and rechek but i can't see the wrong configuration.

Plese help. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Another question.

My primary and secundary Domain Servers live in Production Site. Is a good practice put an third active Domain Server living in a Remote Site?

Greetings.
