Removing VMs from SRM

Hi,

I am new to SRM and we have received a request for server which is decommissioned and it need to be removed from SRM. Can any one let me know how to remove VMs from SRM step by step.What is process for removing VMs from SRM. ? Do we need to remove VMs from protection group ? or something else we need to do.Any help will be appreciated.
