What happens if I connect new vCenter 5.5 / SRM 5.8 SRA to Recoverpoint appliance that is already being used by SRM / SRA 5.0?

I am "upgrading" a vSphere/SRM 5.0 environment to 5.5/5.8.   I have built a new vCenter and have new 5.5 hosts.  I built a new SRM 5.8 VM.  I am wondering what will happen when I go to add the new SRM 5.8 SRA to the Recoverpoint that is currently being managed by the SRM 5.0 SRA?  Will it just work as RP is configured to be managed by SRM?   The new SRM does not need access to the existing LUNs,  only new Consistency Groups.
