Example below from a hardware base machine but this is what I am referring. No longer have a lab to test but I believe the HW Serial (UUID) is in the vmx file...Thank you kindly!

I am looking to implement SRM using Pure storage array replication. However, I have doubt about the different protocols used to access storage at Source and Target Site. In my scenario, I have source site configured with Fibre channel and at Target site I have option to use either iSCSI or SAS to access the storage.
Could someone please suggest if its possible to configure SRM in this scenario ? I know with replication, I'll have LUNs(Volumes) at both sites but does it matter to SRM or VMware environment how I access those LUNs at target site ?
I just pulled out our existing srm install after upgrading vcenter to 6.7 and did a new install of 8.2. Everything is fine except for the ip customization is backwards, it should show the protected site as Production not as DR. Has anyone seen this I've never ran into this
I'm setting up a new environment running on vmware vvols. I'm now setting up the replication and srm, but when testing my replicated VMs, i get the error:
cannot create storage profile "profile name". required option was not specified. I've attached a screenshot of the error.
Any help on this?
Hi, I have a problem with manual IP Customization during recovery process.
I get the error with :
Cannot complete customization, possibly due to a scripting runtime error or invalid script parameters (Error code: 255). IP settings may have been partially applied.
and I find the error in vmware.dr.log
ERROR: Fatal error occurred during customization !! Customization halted.
--> ERROR: Error : Customization Failure !! Unknown distribution. at /var/run/.vmware-imgcust-dpoMy2T/scripts/Customize.pl line 109.
--> INFO: Return code is 255.
But I can't find the "Customize.pl" file

Hi, my question is can I store my SRM placeholder on the recovery site on a host that is also a dedicated failover host for HA Cluster in that recovery site?
Site A we have a dedicated failover host for HA events.
Site B has a protected VM that needs an entire host in the event of an SRM recovery.
If we can use s single host on site A for both the HA dedicated failover and the SRM placeholder we do both with one. Of course we can't have both events at the same time i.e. we lose HA is we have an SRM failover and vice versa.
Anyone doing something similar or have any suggestions please?

When attempting to do a failover test with SRM 8.2.0.2, I'm getting the error "Guest operation authentication failed for operation Create Temporary Directory." on all 40ish VMs.
- We're aware of the time sync issue shown in the release notes, and have confirmed all components are in sync.
- We have a ticket open with GSS, but we're getting nowhere slow.

From what I can tell, the issue is this certificate being used to authenticate to the guest. However, I cannot find the source of this cert anywhere on the SRM appliance. For good measure, we reset all the certs using the vCenter VMCA script and reconnected everything, yet this cert keeps getting sent out.
I'd really appreciate if someone can give me a clue where this is and how I can replace it.

I also have tried to check the time format between SRM - vc - and storage..

I'm using SRM 8.3 with Stretched Storage from PureStorage (ActiveCluster) and vSphere HA Enabled on both sides but I encountered a problem, When I try to Recover VMs with vMotion Recovery enabled via SRM the recovery plan is stuck at step "19.1.2.1 Recover storage consistency group".
At this time Recovery plan/SRM tries to remove files from the protected datastore, to be exact, it tries to remove "vSphere-HA/FDM-stringoflettersandnumber-vcxx" folder but it's unable to since vSphere HA is enabled on both sides, when I disable vSphere HA SRM proceeds without a hassle and just continues to recover the VMs. I tried to select nonprotected, by SRM, datastores for heartbeats but vSphere HA still creates those folders on protected datastores and SRM is still unable to proceed with the recovery. I also tried to disable VM Monitoring in vSphere HA settings but to no avail. SRM just loops and tries to delete the files/folder. Anybody got any tips for this behaviour?

I have a problem with site recovery manager i have srm replicate with the HPE 3Par Storage i need to when i assign the lun i show all the vm in the lun i need to choose the vm to Run the replication but he need to replicate all vm in the lun how can i choose one vm to replicate i try to remove protection group for the vm Which I have not chosen but the run found error you have vm not protected
Note:- i try to remove the vm but the Button remove hidden i use Site Recovery manager 8.2

"License key has expired. Please install a valid license to use this product"

So forgive my lack of knowledge on this matter but im trying to narrow down my direction so I can better address my concern. So we use a backup software xyz, have a vmware environment SITE A PROD and Site B DR (using SRM).
Whenever I restore a FULL VM with essentially deletes it from disk and restores a new one with a new GUID, thus showing as "invalid" in SRM. THE GUIDs no longer match. Is there any method from a SRM perspective (REST API) to help me to update the VM GUID after the restore? Or any other option?

VMware SRM 8.1.2 embedded installation failure. Error "installation interrupted." Attached the installation logs.
We have uninstalled SRM & the embedded database however, while installing it again the installation is getting interrupted.

Recovery job is failing and unfortunately VMware support has not provided a solution. VMtools 10.3.21 running on guest. Confirmed that VGAuthService is running on RHEL6 guests. Hoping someone can help solve this mystery. Thank you.

I have a question about the action "Command: SRM script" when executing a Recovery Plan.
We have both Windows SRM servers and Linux SRM servers, SRA reasons that are only compatible with Linux and Windows.
We have some actions that we need to do after each Recovery Plan.
We've created a Workflow in vRealize Orchestrator for this.
And now we want to start this automated when the Recovery Plan is launched.
I want to use curl because this will work on Windows and Linux, and I want to have just 1 command to work on.
this is the command that works in cmd.

I want to use SRM 8.2 (on NFS) with NetApp ONTAP 9.7.
According to NetApp, Using SRM 8.2 with Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) 9.7, is a valid configuration:

We have two Sites, Protected and Recovery, our production VMs continuously syncing on, the question here I have turned off the protection site vCenter and try to run a test recovery plan, unfortunately, I couldn't find the options "Protection Groups" and "Recovery Plans".
I have turned on that recovery.forcerevory check box in the advances settings too, Any thoughts?

am trying to install SRM 8.3.2 (exe file) in my environment (details below) . Running into the below error .
Error - The time skew between Site Recovery manager host and vCenter Server is too large.
Environment -
ESXi host - 6.7 U3
vCenter - VCSA - 6.7 U3g
Both ESXi host and vCenter are configured with NTP and in sync with the time.
Not sure what else am missing. Any help would be appreciated.
